Name; Shadow
Gender; Male
Age; He was made about the time the Romans began to conquer other nations and wipe out races; he was made by a part of the Celtic race to help protect them from the Roman military forces. So…several centuries old. He looks somewhere in or about his twenties, though.
Weight; …
Weapons; Shadow uses his special abilities far more than any weapon, but he does have two dagger. They’re identical, and fairly plain, except that both of them have a couple blue stones set in the hilt. They’ve been charmed to change as he does, which means when he is of spiritual flesh so are they, and only work on others of the same dimensional plane as he, thus they cannot inflict pain on mortals unless he is in the physical.
Special abilities;
-He is Sam, or An Samhradh, which means Summer in his native tongue (read background) and the characteristic traits of that season tend to be fire and dry things. This could be seen as his ‘element,’ so he can control fire and dust fairly easily as part of that. He can also, under the same ability, create very small, brief, and violent thunderstorms, but he regards that as an utterly useless power and never uses it. Each one of his kind can do the same- that is, control some part of the season they were named for, but their control is very very limited. If Shadow were to put all of his power into creating a thunderstorm, it would only span a few city blocks, he could only make it last (at most) for an hour, and he’d be utterly wiped out afterwards. This is why he doesn’t use that power very often.
-Death Magic; Shadow came with this sort of thing automatically built in, and he’s learned a little more since he first discovered this power. This includes but is not limited to the ability to talk, touch, occasionally resurrect, and be severely annoyed by ghosts of any sort. However, this has lent him great respect for those deities who regularly deal with the dead, and to them he is always extremely polite.
-Shapeshifting; Shadow can assume the shape of anything that has ever lived. While he can technically make up his own shapes to use, he’s very bad at it and would much rather steal someone else’s. Besides changing forms he can also shift the body he is inhabiting into a different plane of existence where he consists entirely of energy. This is similar to the way a ghost exists, so that one could, in fact, walk right through Shadow if they so chose. It does tend to make him blur when they do that, though. In the spiritual form, mortals can’t touch him- gods, angels, ghosts, and the three others of his kind are able to.
-Telekinesis
-Telepathy
-Manipulation of ki; Because really, who in these rpgs can't?
Personality; Not very likable. Generally rude, arrogant, and sarcastic. Rather bitter. He’s mellowing, though. He actually can be very charming at times, when the mood strikes him or if it suits his purposes. It’s hard to be consistently nasty for as long as he’s been around. He has a rather odd sense of humor, and his mood changes at the flip of a hat. He gets irritated very easily, but he hardly ever gets REALLY angry. Certain people set him off more easily than others (*coughLestatcough*). Surprisingly, he doesn’t fight much- at first it was too easy, now it’s just depressing.
Appearance; In his usual form, he is about 5’10 with unruly shoulder-length black hair. He very much likes the ‘wind-swept’ look. He is of average build. He also has golden eyes and small, kittenish fangs, the only real mark of this form’s demon heritage. He is extremely vain.
History; Shadow is one of the four immortal beings made by a Celtic race, each being named after a season in order of their making. Shadow was the third one made, his season being An Samhradh, or Summer. His ties to his clan were cut when the race was more or less wiped out by the Romans, but he occasionally gets in touch with one of the other three Seasons. At the moment he owes a large debt to a man, now deceased, named Orilon. Shadow is repaying his debt by looking after Orilon’s only daughter, a half-demon named Kayla. Shadow is not particularly nice to Kayla, but he does make sure she doesn’t wander off by herself into dark alleyways and things like that.
P.S. Shadow changes forms every so often. When he does, i generally describe it in that rpg.
P.P.S. For any non-admin reading, keep in mind that although Shadow seems super-strong and like those god-moding sort of people that you and i both hate, he passes inspection by one crucial factor- he doesn't fight. Not even in rpgs, unless it's self-defense. And even then, he's more likely to step to one side and let his opponent sail right on by, and then laugh at him mockingly. This is one of the exceptions i talked about somewhere else on the site. If your character is a non-fighter, a god, or sometimes a mythical creature (like a vampire, or a mermaid, etc.) often we admins will let you get by with a few very powerful abilities. It all has to do with how you use the power.
Snowflake
Requiem, requiem
Sounds like
Castles up in the air
Falling down
Falling down
Snowflake
Wild and so beautiful
Quake-proof
Just like I'm bullet-proof
Acting proud
Acting proud
And I lay awake
Watching the night fall around on me
And in every shape
I try to color myself
In ways just to be seen
And I'm on my way
Taming the sky
But the snow still stings
Washing away
Every last tear in my heart
So I can just feel myself
Scream
Snowflake
Requiem, requiem
Hit the streets
But the streets have been blown away
Blown away

This song reminds me of that Shadow character development i wrote a while ago. Lestat, Astral, whichever one of you replies to this, don't you remember?
