Alright, here's the deal. You all got a brief version in the summery- this board is here to have some place to throw the older characters that, for some reason or another, need to be reapproved.
New members, you don't really have any need to be here at all. This is for the original members whose characters got approved back when we admins were young and stupid. (Or at least, when I was young and stupid. Sometimes I still have flashes of it.)
To make things easier, we will explain on your character thread what we find unacceptable and why. Exceptions are sometimes made, if you think you have a good reason and want to tell us. I will tell you I am a sucker for pacifists and other-worldly creatures and have made exceptions for these, but I don't know what the others might budge on.
Most of the characters that need to be revamped are for a couple of reasons, but mainly because these characters seem flawless. With invincible attacks, eternal life, endless energy, never seeming to get hurt, and often instant healing, some characters show traits of god-moding. Sometimes it's simply that the character has too many abilities or weapons (the limit on both of those is six per character).
This is one thing that I am going to be very stern on. If your character is on this board, you have to change them until they are acceptable and meet the character requirements. You are not allowed to post on the rpg boards using this character until any of the admins reapprove them. If you use them regardless, we'll warn you and delete those posts. It is possible, after all, not to know that your character was on here.
After the first warning, if you post again it'll just get deleted. If there continues to be problems we will ban you. Not that I think any of our members will do that, but I want to mention it regardless.
Extra-special note to those of you who are fatally curious;
As I mentioned earlier, I have made exceptions. There are five characters which display some of the characteristics which I talked about above: Lestat and Komo, both vampires; Matilda, the Grim Reaper or very close to it; Shadow, an immortal shapeshifter who seems to be pure spirit; and Soulfire, who seems to be some sort of moderator for the universe.
For the two vampires, immortality seems to come with the job description. They can be destroyed or injured, and neither of them bullies other characters with their strength. The Grim Reaper is just rather self-explanatory, I should think, and in the end she's only doing her job. Shadow has two forms, one pure spirit and the other very real flesh, and he switches both. In his real form, he is nearly as human as anyone else and can be hurt or killed like any other human, if you can get past his powers. In his spiritual form he can still be injured, and there is one surefire way to kill him that way too. Soulfire....well, I'm still not quite sure what Soulfire is, but he behaves well for someone with near-limitless power. I don't think he has ever attacked someone else's character.
Is anyone seeing a trend here? No? Well, I shall tell you my weak spot. All of these characters are very very powerful, but absolutely none of them abuse that power. Shadow is the only one who likes to be a bully, but he'll only physically strike out in self-defense. All of them are also some form of supernatural creature, or at the very least not quite of this world. They all have very valid excuses.
I just thought I should note that if you read this and recognize your character, you should feel very special.
